TAG OR COMFIRMATION QUESTION
Tag question is for confirming the statement by adding
the short question at the last. The ways to form question tag, are:

If it’s positive statement, the tag will
negative

If it’s negative statement, the tag will
positive
-
The subject of question tag, must be pronoun
( he, she, it, they, …)

Auxiliary verb must be repeated in the
tag
-
If there is no auxiliary verb in the
statement, use: do, does, did
-
Exception : - I am ……., aren’t?
-I am not….., am I?
- Imperative question tag use:
V1 ……, will you?
Let’s …., shall we?

Question tag consist of more than one
clause, the tag is from the second clause (dependent clause)
Example: vega is climber, isn’t
she?

It’s positive statement, but it has negative
meaning. So the tag is positive like: never, hardly, few/little, seldom, rarely
Example: you successfully do your
homework, aren’t you?

The answer of tag question:
Yes: from the positive statement
No: from the negative statement
